CA Certificate Manager is the product designed to manage a Certification Authority, sign and manage large volumes of digital certificates.
CA Certificate Manager finds its fullest expression in generating and maintaining client digital certificates over time and ensuring Strong Authentication prior to the use of services through Oplon Secure Access Web Application Gateway (WAG), Remote Access Gateway (RAG) and Application Delivery Controller (ADC), which in these cases asks for the client certificate without having to modify the applications.

Access to critical services or services containing confidential information through the Internet requires appropriate and extremely secure solutions. Digital certificates make it possible to select in advance the users who can access the service, and it is a system that Oplon proposes both in the Oplon Secure Access suite and as a single filtering element to access services or in a reinforcing way to the Oplon Secure Access MFA (Multi Factor Authentication) system. In fact, for some services it is possible, in addition to Multi Factor Authentication, to add a client digital certificate request to maximize protection of critical resources.

To sum up, the client certificate can be used in the following manner:

  1. Protection of the service with the only client certificate
  2. Protection of the service with client certificate + double factor authentication (MFA - 3 factor authentication)
  3. Protection of the service with client certificate alternative use or double factor authentication alternative use (MFA)

CA Certificate Manager allows you to manage the entire lifecycle of certificates, either as a public Certification Authority or as an internal (self-signed) Certification Authority. In fact, it is possible to create one's own "root" certificates, to generate from "root" certificates "Intermediate" certificates assignable to individual departments organizations, and then to generate and sign automatically, starting from lists described in spreadsheets, client certificates in a massive manner.

One of the biggest impact points in digital certificate management is renewals. Oplon Secure Access CA Certificate Manager greatly facilitates the task by allowing entire lists of client certificates to be automatically renewed by directly producing distribution lists ready to be sent to individual operators.

With CA Certificate Manager forget about manual operations, the whole cycle is managed through Web interface with wizards that accompany you from the generation of "root" certificates, the renewal of "Intermediate" certificates and the massive generation and renewal of client certificates to the production of mailing lists to users.

The initial loading of client certificates is one of the critical factors in terms of the time to be spent on user headers and the resulting errors that can result. With Oplon Secure Access CA Certificate Manager, simple preformatted spreadsheets can be used, sent to the appropriate Managers for uploading names that will have permission to use the service, and easily imported by generating client certificates. After uploading with generation, through a simple click you will sign all certificates producing the distribution list ready to send to users.

In the Oplon Secure Access vision, no client-side installation, digital certificates are part of the vision since client certificates, once received by users, do not require installation but a very simple upload by the user simply by performing a "double click".
